Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship Selection Enters Academic and Psychological Test Phase

The selection for the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (Kemenag) 2026 Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) has entered the Academic Capacity and Psychology Assessment (AKAP) stage after prospective participants were declared to have passed the administrative screening. The test, also known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (TBS), will be held simultaneously on 28 June 2026 using a computer-based test (CBT) system.

Head of the Centre for Religious Education and Religious Studies Financing (Puspenma) of the Kemenag Secretariat General, Ruchman Basori, stated that this year’s BIB selection process is being conducted professionally, transparently, and accountably. According to him, all selection stages are being carried out according to the schedule set out in the 2026 BIB Booklet.

This year, the number of BIB registrants reached 12,696 people from undergraduate (S1), master’s (S2), and doctoral (S3) programmes for study destinations both at home and abroad. Ruchman explained that for the first time, Kemenag provided an opportunity for participants who did not pass the administrative selection to file an appeal. The appeal period took place on 17-18 June 2026, with results announced on 22 June 2026.

Ahead of the AKAP on 28 June, Kemenag is holding exam simulations on 26 and 27 June 2026 to familiarise participants with the CBT platform. The 26 June simulation is designated for participants of the Santri S1 and Distance Learning S1 scholarship programmes, while the 27 June simulation is for participants of the Accelerated S1 to S2 and S2 to S3 programmes, S1 and S2 Double Degree programmes, Pesantren S2 and S3 scholarships, and the Religious Excellence Scholarship for S1, S2, and S3 levels both domestically and abroad.
