Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship 2026 Selection Enters Interview Stage
The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (Kemenag) Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) 2026 selection has entered its final stage. More than 4,000 participants who passed the Scholastic Aptitude Test (TBS) are scheduled to attend interviews from 9–20 July 2026 as the final determinant of who will receive the scholarship.
Ruchman Basori, Head of the Centre for Religious Education Financing and Religious Education (Puspenma) at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, said the interview is an extremely important stage as it will determine which participants earn the status of BIB 2026 awardees.
“The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship selection for 2026 has entered its final stage. Prospective awardees who have passed the Scholastic Aptitude Test will now take part in a very important stage, namely the interview test to be held from 9 to 20 July 2026,” Ruchman told Republika.co.id on Wednesday (8 July 2026).
He urged all participants to use the time before the interview to prepare themselves as well as possible. According to him, both academic and mental readiness will be crucial assets in facing the selection process.
“Make good use of this opportunity to keep learning. Convince the interviewers that you are worthy and deserving of this scholarship,” he said.
Beyond maximum preparation, Ruchman also reminded participants to accompany their efforts with prayer. He expressed hope that all participants would be granted ease in undergoing the interview and could become part of the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship programme.
“Pray to Allah SWT that you are given ease in answering all the questions and pass to become an important part of the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship programme,” he said.
Ruchman explained that of around 12,600 applicants for BIB 2026, about 9,000 participants took the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Of that number, more than 4,000 were declared eligible to proceed to the interview stage.
“Good luck, and may you succeed in becoming BIB awardees under this collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and LPDP,” he said.
The Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship programme is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) under the Ministry of Finance. The programme is one of the government’s efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the field of religious education through funding for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies, both at home and abroad.
