Indonesia Attracts Global Investors, Exhibition Sector Projected to Grow by Double Digits in 2026
Indonesia is attracting global investors, with the exhibition sector projected to grow by double digits in 2026. As the largest economy in Southeast Asia and with its strategic location, Indonesia is a magnet for global businesses. The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is expected to experience rapid growth in 2026.
Stable economic growth and increasing business activity are key factors driving the positive outlook for the national exhibition sector this year. With the national economy growing at around 5%, Indonesia’s demographic dividend is making it an increasingly attractive market for the development of the exhibition and international trade industries.
The growth of the MICE industry in Indonesia is encouraging exhibition companies to expand and collaborate in the domestic market. One example is the establishment of PT Nine Koeln Indonesia, a joint venture between Koelnmesse and AMARA Expo (PT Amara Pameran Internasional).
The Managing Director of PT Nine Koeln Indonesia, Etty Anggraeni, said that the establishment of the joint venture is a continuation of the long-term partnership that the two companies have built over the past few years. This collaboration is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s business connectivity with international markets and improve the quality of trade show organization in the country.
“The establishment of PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia marks an important milestone in our journey with Koelnmesse. Through this collaboration, we are taking a significant step forward in providing high-quality platforms and creating more opportunities for Indonesian businesses to connect globally,” said Etty in a written statement on Friday, May 15, 2026.
The cooperation between AMARA Expo and Koelnmesse began with the organization of the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) in 2017 and has continued to develop through a number of other industrial exhibitions. The previous partnership has also resulted in a number of international exhibitions in Indonesia, such as interzum jakarta in 2024 and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia in 2025.
In 2026, the synergy between the two companies will continue. The cooperation includes a number of international-scale exhibitions that will be held in September.
