Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has conveyed its appreciation for the Philippines’ leadership regarding the Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) in the ASEAN Finance Track 2026.

Deputy Minister of Finance Juda Agung stated that this step serves as a timely and relevant framework for strengthening collaboration among ASEAN member countries amid rising global uncertainties.

“Indonesia assesses that the initiatives in the ASEAN PEDs for 2026 open up significant opportunities to enhance regional resilience,” said Juda in a written statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

He noted that amid global challenges such as economic fragmentation, technological disruptions, climate change risks, and geopolitical dynamics, the proposed PEDs reflect the shared commitment of ASEAN countries to drive digital transformation and enhance economic inclusivity.

“By focusing on concrete and forward-looking initiatives, these priorities can help position ASEAN to respond more effectively to emerging challenges while seizing new growth opportunities,” the Deputy Minister added.

Indonesia also welcomes the Philippines’ efforts in promoting financial health as a regional priority. This step aligns with Indonesia’s policy transformation from a focus on financial inclusion to a broader approach encompassing financial health.

This approach emphasises financial resilience, prudent financial management, and long-term societal well-being.

“Indonesia believes that advancing financial health will improve the quality of financial inclusion and contribute to more sustainable and inclusive growth across the region,” Juda stated.

The Deputy Minister further added that Indonesia views the PEDs framework as a strategic instrument for translating ASEAN’s long-term vision into tangible, impactful actions.

Indonesia affirms its readiness to collaborate with all ASEAN member countries to ensure effective implementation, thereby strengthening resilience, competitiveness, and shared prosperity in the region.
