Indonesia and UK Cannot Walk Alone, Collaboration is Key
Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the United Kingdom have spanned more than seven decades. However, amidst the vast economic potential of both nations, the value of trade and investment created remains far from optimal. Although President Prabowo Subianto and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed an Economic Growth Partnership (EGP) earlier this year, the potential for Indonesia-UK trade and investment is still not being fully exploited. One important agenda now in focus is tariff reform, which is considered capable of opening wider market access, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and encouraging investment flows between the two countries.
