Indonesia and Thailand Affirm Commitment to Peace in the Middle East and Myanmar

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul have affirmed the importance of resolving the conflict in the Middle East through diplomacy and respect for international law.

“We also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and affirmed the importance of conflict resolution through diplomatic dialogue and respect for international law,” Prabowo said during a joint press statement with PM Anutin at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

The President said Indonesia and Thailand share the same view that the prolonged conflict in the Middle East must end promptly.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the situation in Myanmar and expressed support for ASEAN’s efforts to push for the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus.

Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia and Thailand, as founding members of ASEAN, share a collective responsibility to maintain peace, stability, and security in the region.

“We reaffirmed the importance of preserving ASEAN unity and centrality as the foundation of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region,” he said.

“I am confident that Indonesia and Thailand will continue to ensure that this strategic partnership brings tangible benefits to the prosperity of both our peoples,” Prabowo said.
