A bilateral meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has produced 26 cooperation agreements. Prabowo assessed the meeting as productive. “This meeting has resulted in 26 real achievements, concrete achievements in various fields, 18 government-to-government cooperation agreements and 8 business-to-business agreements. These achievements reflect the broadening and deepening of our cooperation,” Prabowo said during a joint press statement with Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (6/7/2026). Prabowo revealed that cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore has increased in almost all fields. This includes economic cooperation, which he described as a main pillar in the relationship between the two countries. In trade, both agreed to implement cross-border electricity trading. “Indonesia has appointed BPI Danantara to implement cross-border electricity trading cooperation, as well as for activities in the trade sector and beyond,” he stated. Concrete agreements were also reached in the fields of energy, the digital economy, digital ecosystems, and cybersecurity. The two countries agreed to continue collaboration in food and supply chains. “In the field of defence and security, we will also implement our defence cooperation agreement,” he said. Cooperation is also established not only between governments but also through strengthening people-to-people ties. “Therefore, connectivity, tourism, education, and cooperation between youth are very important,” Prabowo concluded.
