Indonesia and Russia Agree on New Framework for Trade and Investment Cooperation

Kazan, Russia. Indonesia and Russia on Tuesday signed an agreed minutes document covering trade, economic, and technological cooperation following the 14th joint commission meeting between the two countries.

The document was signed by Chief Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

The agreed minutes serve as a joint document outlining progress in bilateral cooperation, understandings reached during the joint commission session, and follow-up plans across a range of priority sectors.

The document is intended to provide a framework for ensuring the continuity and implementation of bilateral initiatives in a more structured and concrete manner.

Areas covered include cooperation in trade and investment, renewable energy, agriculture and fisheries, industry, transportation and construction, higher education and science, healthcare, tourism, culture, digital development and mass media, sports, geology and mineral resource utilization, as well as urban solid waste management.

Airlangga said the signing reflected both countries’ commitment to strengthening and advancing bilateral cooperation in line with directives from their respective leaders.

“This document serves as an important reference for both countries in continuing and strengthening cooperation implementation across various priority sectors while mapping untapped potential that has not yet been optimally developed,” Airlangga said in a statement.

Through the agreement, Indonesia and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to expanding a mutually beneficial bilateral partnership aligned with each country’s national development priorities.

Several Indonesian officials accompanied Airlangga during the signing ceremony, including Deputy Energy Minister Yuliot Tanjung, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono, Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, and Economic Ministry Secretary Susiwijono Moegiarso.
