Sugiono also stated that both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and follow up on necessary measures. He supported efforts to reduce tensions and maintain regional stability. Meanwhile, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi expressed condolences over the death of the Indonesian soldier who fell while carrying out his duties with UNIFIL in southern Lebanon, according to a post on his official X account monitored online on Tuesday. “I strongly condemn the attack and praise the sacrifice of the Indonesian contingent and their ongoing efforts with the UN peacekeeping forces to maintain security and stability in the south,” said the Lebanese Foreign Minister. Youssef Raggi also conveyed thanks and appreciation for Indonesia’s role in the UNIFIL peacekeeping forces. He noted that the young soldier deserved recognition as a fallen peacekeeper. On Monday (30/3), Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that an Indonesian UNIFIL peacekeeper was killed by artillery fire near the position of the Indonesian UNIFIL contingent in the vicinity of Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, on Sunday (29/3) local time. Sergeant Farizal Rhomadhon was confirmed to have fallen in the incident. Three other TNI personnel, Sergeant Rico Pramudia, Sergeant Bayu Prakoso, and Sergeant Arif Kurniawan, were injured. Head of the TNI Information Centre, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, confirmed on Monday that the three injured personnel were evacuated to medical facilities.
