Indonesia and China Sign Three MoUs Worth 2 Billion US Dollars

Indonesia and China signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with a total economic value of around 2 billion US dollars, equivalent to Rp36 trillion, at the Indonesia-China Partnership Forum in Jakarta on Thursday. Indonesia’s Ambassador to China, Djauhari Oratmangun, stated that one of the collaborations involves the construction of a 300-megawatt (MW) agrivoltaic solar power plant in North Sumatra. This green energy project is one of the largest in North Sumatra, with an investment value of approximately 1.35 billion US dollars. The two nations also signed a cooperation agreement in the food and beverage industry sector between PT Jobubu Jarum Minahasa Tbk and Guangxi G. Taste Food Co., Ltd. In his remarks at the forum, Djauhari said Indonesia continues to strengthen its investment climate through licensing simplification, business ecosystem improvements, legal certainty for investors, and by encouraging increasingly open and competitive economic growth. He added that the government welcomes quality investment that brings technology, creates jobs, enhances human resource capacity, strengthens national industry, and generates domestic added value.
