Indonesia and China Sign Three MoUs Worth 2 Billion US Dollars

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia and China signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with an economic value of around 2 billion US dollars, equivalent to Rp36 trillion, at the Indonesia-China Partnership Forum in Jakarta on Thursday.

Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said one of the agreements involves the construction of a 300 megawatt (MW) agrivoltaic solar power plant (PLTS) in North Sumatra.

The agrivoltaic solar project is one of the largest green energy projects in North Sumatra, with an investment value of approximately 1.35 billion US dollars.

In addition to the green energy project, Indonesia and China also signed a cooperation agreement in the food and beverage industry between PT Jobubu Jarum Minahasa Tbk and Guangxi G. Taste Food Co., Ltd.

Overall, the three MoUs signed carry an economic value of around 2 billion US dollars.

In his address at the Indonesia-China Partnership Forum, Djauhari said Indonesia continues to strengthen its investment climate by simplifying licensing procedures, improving the business ecosystem, providing legal certainty for investors, and promoting increasingly open and competitive economic growth.

According to him, the government welcomes quality investment that brings technology, creates jobs, enhances human resource capacity, strengthens national industry, and generates added value domestically.
