Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia is prepared to enhance the strategic partnership between China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic vision to strengthen national security amid global geopolitical dynamics.

According to an official statement received in Jakarta on Friday, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that one of the key focuses for strengthening future cooperation between the two countries is enhancing the strategic partnership between MSS and BIN, which aligns with President Prabowo’s vision.

“The enhancement of good relations and cooperation between MSS and BIN in the future is part of the foreign policy of President Prabowo’s administration, which has a vision to improve Indonesia’s national security amid geopolitical dynamics in the multipolar world order through an active role in various dimensions of international relations,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

He explained that during a meeting with China’s Minister of State Security, Chen Yixin, at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday (27/3), President Prabowo discussed increasing inter-country cooperation to maintain regional security stability.

In that meeting, he clarified, the Chinese side expressed hopes to strengthen cooperation with friendly countries in maintaining and enhancing security stability.

“Chen expressed the PRC’s hope to work together with friendly countries to build cooperation in order to maintain and enhance security stability in Asia and the world,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

In response, the Head of State emphasised the importance of security stability for Indonesia. According to him, this serves as the primary foundation in supporting sustainable economic growth.

Welcoming the Chinese side’s hopes, he said, President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s view on the importance of regional stability for Indonesia in supporting sustainable economic growth.

In line with that, President Prabowo welcomed the opportunity to enhance cooperation between Indonesia and China, which is expected to provide equal and mutually beneficial outcomes for both countries, particularly in the field of security.

“Furthermore, President Prabowo welcomed MSS’s hopes to enhance cooperation for the benefit of both countries,” stated Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
