Indonesia and Belarus to Launch Cooperation Roadmap During Lukashenko Visit
Jakarta - Indonesia and Belarus will launch a Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030 as a framework to strengthen ties during Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko’s state visit to Indonesia on 2 July 2026. The plan was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, following a courtesy call by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenko to Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono as part of preparations for President Lukashenko’s visit. “Indonesia welcomes the planned launch of the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030 during this visit, which is expected to serve as a working framework to promote concrete and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries,” the ministry stated. The roadmap will serve as a reference for strengthening cooperation in various fields, including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology. During the meeting, the two ministers also discussed preparations for President Lukashenko’s visit, including a number of cooperative efforts expected to yield concrete outcomes from the agenda. Both sides expressed appreciation for the close coordination among various institutions in both countries in preparing for the visit. Sugiono and Ryzhenko also exchanged views on various issues of mutual concern at the regional and global levels. The ministry stated that both parties believe President Lukashenko’s visit will further strengthen Indonesia-Belarus relations and produce various forms of cooperation that provide tangible benefits to the people of both countries. Belarus is an important partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region and a key member of the Eurasian Economic Union. Indonesia and the EAEU signed a free trade agreement in December 2025.
