Indonesia and Belarus Target Increased Bilateral Trade and Investment

Indonesia and Belarus are continuing to strengthen bilateral economic relations through the Indonesia–Belarus Business Forum and Business Matching event held in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6). The forum served as a platform to bring together business actors from both countries to encourage increased trade, investment, and strategic economic partnerships.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the business forum is a strategic platform to strengthen cooperation between business actors while translating good bilateral relations into tangible economic partnerships. Airlangga noted that the trade value between Indonesia and Belarus in 2025 reached approximately USD221.3 million, an increase of around 30 per cent compared to the previous year. The Indonesian government is also committed to increasing exports of electronic products, fisheries, rubber, cocoa, and palm oil derivatives to Belarus.

Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said that multi-sector relations between the two countries have continued to develop since the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and President Lukashenko. He also conveyed that President Lukashenko has signed the law ratifying the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA).
