Indonesia and Belarus Sign Seven Bilateral Cooperation Agreements
The governments of Indonesia and Belarus have signed several bilateral cooperation agreements across various sectors. The signing ceremony took place during the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his delegation to the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, 7 July 2026.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that seven cooperation agreements were signed by the Indonesian and Belarusian authorities. President Prabowo Subianto and President Lukashenko witnessed the signing of these partnerships.
“During the bilateral meeting, both heads of state discussed and agreed upon several strategic steps to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Belarus,” Teddy said in a written statement.
The seven cooperation agreements between Indonesia and Belarus signed during Lukashenko’s visit to Jakarta are as follows:
The launch of the Indonesia–Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 202ng–2030, serving as the bilateral cooperation framework for the next five years.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on industrial cooperation between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
The signing of MoUs regarding cooperation in the fields of culture, cooperation between financial services authorities, and cooperation in the health sector.
The signing of a Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement between BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to strengthen research and innovation collaboration.
The signing of an MoU between PPATK (Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) and the Department of Financial Monitoring of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus regarding cooperation and intelligence exchange in preventing money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The signing of an MoU on National Accreditation Cooperation signed by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) of the Republic of Indonesia.
The strengthening of economic partnership through the implementation of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (IEAEU FTA).
In a joint press statement following the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo emphasised that President Lukashenko’s visit reflects the deepening friendship between Indonesia and Belarus. “The President also expressed appreciation for President Lukashenko’s visit to Indonesia after more than 13 years,” said Teddy.
Belarus, he noted, is one of Indonesia’s strategic trading partners within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Through the implementation of the Indonesia-EAEU Free Trade Agreement, approximately 90 per cent of Indonesian products will eventually gain market access and duty-free facilities in Belarus once the ratification process is completed.
