Indonesia and Belarus Sign Business Cooperation Agreements Worth IDR 7 Trillion
JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Indonesia and Belarus have signed Agreed Minutes at their 8th joint commission meeting. This document, the result of negotiations, will serve as the basis for following up on economic cooperation between the two countries in a more concrete and targeted manner.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has stated that this bilateral meeting should produce tangible projects, not just agreements on paper. He believes that the implementation of this cooperation can boost the economies of both countries.
“The understandings reached in this joint commission meeting must be translated into concrete steps that have a direct impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus,” he said, quoted on Sunday (17/5/2026).
Airlangga explained that the areas of cooperation discussed in this bilateral meeting are quite broad. These include trade, investment, industry, agriculture and food security, forestry, banking, health, education, science and technology, culture, sports, and tourism.
He added that Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich also expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the industrial, agricultural, technological sectors, and business collaboration between companies.
“These Agreed Minutes can be an important instrument to accelerate the implementation of understandings and realize them into cooperative projects that can be implemented,” Airlangga added.
At the same event, five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were also signed between Indonesian and Belarusian companies. The total value of these business collaborations in the MoUs reaches IDR 7 trillion.
A series of agreements include an MoU between PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and Nedra Nezhin, an MoU between PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, an MoU between PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Energi Complekt, an MoU between Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Dolomite, and an MoU between PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Belindo Trade.
In the bilateral meeting, Indonesia and Belarus are finalizing the preparation of a roadmap for cooperation from 2026-2030 and want to take advantage of the momentum of the implementation of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (EAEU FTA) to expand trade and investment. (rig)
