Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto, alongside President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, has launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 2026–2030, serving as a framework for developing bilateral relations between the two nations over the next five years.

In a joint statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, President Prabowo stated that the roadmap reflects the commitment of both Indonesia and Belarus to build more targeted, concrete, and mutually beneficial cooperation across various strategic sectors.

“Today, both countries have launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 2026–2030, which will serve as the framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years,” said President Prabowo.

The roadmap will serve as a reference for strengthening cooperation in several fields, including economy, agriculture, food security, culture, as well as science and technology.

In the sector of food security, President Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia and Belarus are committed to increasing cooperation by leveraging their complementary potentials. This cooperation includes the development of modern agriculture, the provision of fertilisers, agricultural tools and technology, as well as heavy machinery.

In the economic field, both countries have agreed to expand partnerships that support their respective national development agendas. President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to Belarus for completing the ratification process of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA).

According to Prabowo, Indonesia is also in the process of completing the ratification of the agreement as part of its efforts to strengthen trade relations with the Eurasian region.

Furthermore, President Prabowo identified significant opportunities to increase investment and establish joint ventures between businesses from both nations, particularly in the manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicle, and agro-industry sectors.

Regarding socio-cultural affairs and human resource development, President Prabowo encouraged the strengthening of cooperation through cultural exchanges, partnerships between educational institutions, and the development of vocational education and training to enhance the quality of human resources in both countries.
