Indonesia and Belarus Agree on Business Cooperation Worth IDR 7 Trillion

Indonesia and Belarus have agreed on business cooperation worth IDR 7 trillion. The Indonesian government and Belarus have successfully recorded business commitments worth IDR 7 trillion. This agreement was achieved through the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the 8th Indonesia-Belarus Joint Commission Meeting in Minsk, Belarus, as reported by Suara.

This strategic move is designed to strengthen trade, investment, industry, and the food sector in both countries. The Agreed Minutes document of the Joint Commission Meeting on Economic Cooperation was signed by the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich.

The five MoUs involve corporations from both countries. The partnerships include cooperation between PT Pupuk Indonesia and Nedra Nezhin, as well as four other projects involving PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya with OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, Energi Complekt, OJSC Dolomite, and Belindo Trade.

Airlangga Hartarto emphasized the importance of immediately realizing all the agreements reached to make a real contribution to the economy.

“The MoUs reached in this Joint Commission Meeting must be translated into concrete steps that have a direct impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus,” said Airlangga.

Airlangga added that the signing of the Agreed Minutes serves as the main foundation. This instrument ensures that all economic cooperation agendas run more systematically and focus on tangible results, especially regarding investment and the expansion of national industry into the Eurasian region.

In the bilateral meeting, both parties explored various strategic sectors, including trade, industry, agriculture, banking, health, education, science, technology, and tourism.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich, expressed his country’s full commitment to deepening economic partnerships with Indonesia, especially in the fields of technology, industry, and agriculture.

“We are committed to continuing to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia and open up wider partnership opportunities for business actors in both countries,” said Viktor Karankevich.

The high-level agenda in Minsk was also attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Moscow, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, the Secretary of the Ministry of Coordinating Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, and a delegation from APINDO and KADIN Indonesia.
