Indonesia and Belarus Agree on Business Commitments Worth IDR 7 Trillion

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian and Belarusian businesses have agreed on business commitments through five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with a total value of IDR 7 trillion during the 8th Indonesia-Belarus Joint Commission Meeting in Minsk, Belarus.

The five MoUs include cooperation between PT Pupuk Indonesia and Nedra Nezhin, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Energi Complekt, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Dolomite, as well as PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Belindo Trade.

The signing of the business cooperation agreements was held in conjunction with the signing of the Agreed Minutes of the 8th Indonesia-Belarus Joint Commission Meeting on Economic Cooperation by Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich.

“The agreements reached in this Joint Commission Meeting must be translated into concrete steps that have a direct impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus,” said Airlangga in an official statement in Jakarta, Friday.

During the meeting, the two countries discussed various areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, industry, agriculture and food security, forestry, banking, health, education, science and technology, culture, sports, and tourism.

Airlangga emphasised that the Agreed Minutes could be an important instrument to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects.

Meanwhile, Viktor Karankevich expressed Belarus’ commitment to continuing to deepen cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the industrial, agricultural, and technological sectors, and to open up wider opportunities for business cooperation between the two countries.
