Indonesia Among First Six Countries Eligible for Saudi Arabia's New Visa Package, Umrah Still Permitted

Indonesia is one of the first six countries to qualify for Saudi Arabia’s newly launched Visa Package programme, an initiative allowing tourists to obtain an electronic tourist visa as part of a combined travel booking. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the Visa Package is currently available to visitors from Jordan, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Mexico. The service merges flights, licensed hotel accommodation, and an e-tourist visa into a single booking process, enabling eligible travellers to complete their travel arrangements through approved travel packages rather than applying for a tourist visa separately. The visa is issued electronically within a maximum of 48 hours after the travel package purchase is completed, eliminating the need to visit a Saudi embassy or submit a separate visa application. To obtain the package, travellers must select an approved package through an official travel agent, complete payment digitally, and receive their visa, travel insurance, and travel documents via email. The Ministry has so far accredited two travel agents to offer the service: Reserval and Almosafer. The visa is a single-entry tourist visa valid for three months, allowing a minimum stay of two days and a maximum of 88 days in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Once issued, the visa cannot be cancelled separately, and cancellation of the travel package automatically revokes the associated visa. The package must include confirmed round-trip flights, accommodation at a Ministry of Tourism-licensed hotel with a minimum four-star rating, and the e-visa application. The minimum package price is set at SR 4,000 per adult for the first two days, with an additional SR 1,000 for each subsequent day. In addition to flights and accommodation, travellers can include optional services and experiences such as event tickets and leisure activities. Although the package does not include services in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, such as Umrah arrangements, visa holders are permitted to travel anywhere in Saudi Arabia after arrival, including both holy cities. The Ministry of Tourism stated that additional nationalities will be added to the Visa Package programme in subsequent phases.
