He made the statement while briefing academicians participating in the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) program, which is intended to help regions harness their potential and develop featured products, aligning with President Prabowo Subianto’s eight priorities, collectively called the Asta Cita.

“The Patriot Expedition Team is derived from President Prabowo’s Asta Cita, as we designed this program to stimulate development from the village level to improve people’s welfare while driving economic growth in transmigration regions,” Mauladi remarked in Bogor, West Java, on Sunday (July 26).

He noted that TEP members are expected to build productive ties with local communities and create innovations useful for transmigration regions to capitalize on their strengths.

“We envision villages becoming economic centers and cultural hubs. We are deploying the Patriot Expedition Team to interact with residents and contribute innovations, creations, and new insights that can respond to local needs,” he explained.

The deputy minister further stressed that the transmigration program is being advanced nationwide to unlock the potential of previously isolated regions and help them build productivity.

He pointed out that decades of relocating people to less populated areas designated as transmigration zones had brought fundamental changes to Indonesia’s administrative structure.

“The transmigration program has led to the emergence of 1,567 villages, 466 sub-districts, 116 districts and cities, and three provincial capitals,” he highlighted.

Mauladi then cited the Telang area in Musi Banyuasin District, South Sumatra, as a notable outcome of the transmigration initiative. He said the area recorded the nation’s highest rice output in 2025.

He emphasized that the achievement proves transmigration regions have the potential to grow into economic drivers, provided they are backed by innovation, research, and cross-sector collaboration.
