Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that Indonesia has successfully garnered investments worth nearly Rp 1,400 trillion in the last three months. “This is almost 60 percent of Indonesia’s investment target for this year. So actually, 60 percent has been achieved by Mr Anindya Bakrie,” said Airlangga in Jakarta on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.

The statement was delivered by Airlangga during a speech at a seminar organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), hosted by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the British Embassy.

Airlangga explained that Indonesia’s accession process to join the OECD involves not only the government but also the business community. Airlangga also mentioned that the government maintains very close ties with Kadin. That is why, Airlangga said, Kadin General Chairman Anindya Bakrie always accompanies President Prabowo Subianto on state visits.

The Golkar politician stated that in the last three months, Indonesia has signed memoranda of understanding worth nearly Rp 1,400 trillion with South Korea, Japan, and the United States.

The technical review process for Indonesia’s OECD accession will continue in the second half of this year. “There will be a technical review in July. Of course, we hope that, as this is sector by sector, the process can continue progressing,” he said. Airlangga believes that OECD membership can strengthen Indonesia’s trade and investment relations amid uncertainties.

The OECD is an international organisation with 38 member countries that serves as a multilateral platform for economic development policies. At least three sectors are currently under review by the OECD: environment, trade, and digital policy.

Indonesia’s relationship with the OECD began in 2007 when Indonesia became a key partner. Indonesia’s status then changed to an accession candidate country in March 2024.
