Indonesia also emphasised the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation in addressing global population dynamics.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) has affirmed its commitment to promoting the global population and development agenda at the 59th Session of the UN Commission on Population and Development, organised by the United Nations (UN) at the United Nations Headquarters.

The Indonesian delegation, led by the Deputy for Population Control of the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Bonivasius Prasetya Ichtiarto, reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment by launching the Grand Design for Population Development 2025–2045, strengthened by the Population Development Roadmap (PJPK).

“Indonesia also emphasises the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation in addressing global population dynamics, including accelerating demographic transitions and increasing the proportion of elderly populations,” he stated in an official remark in Jakarta on Tuesday.

This step, he continued, ensures that population dynamics are comprehensively integrated into cross-sectoral development planning at all levels of government, in line with national priorities.

In line with the implementation of the Grand Design for Population Development 2025–2045, Indonesia is also strengthening policy-based research in the fields of population dynamics, reproductive health, family planning, and social protection.

“The synergy between technology, research, and public policy is the main foundation in building a resilient, adaptive, and inclusive society, ensuring that no one is left behind,” he added.
