Indonesia advances to volleyball semis

MANILA (AP): Indonesia beat New Zealand on Saturday in a 15-13
upset victory on the second day of the Asian Beach Volleyball
Circuit 2000.

Indonesia's Timy Yudhani and Elizabeth Yohana, cheered by
Filipino spectators at a seaside tourism complex, demonstrated
impeccable offense against the fifth seed New Zealand Team of
Angela Stojanovic and Lucy Todd during the 80-minute match.

Top seed Japan Team 1 also beat New Zealand 15-12, eliminating
the New Zealanders from the semifinals on Sunday.

The Indonesians lost to Australia Team 1 5-15, but beat Hong
Kong, 15-0, and Thailand, 15-7. They will face Australia Team 2
in the second match of Sunday's semifinal round.
