Indonesia Adds Six Countries to Visa-Free Visit List

The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has issued Ministerial Regulation Number 10 of 2026 concerning the addition of countries, special administrative regions, and certain entities granted visa-free visits. The regulation was signed by Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto on 7 July 2026. “Based on the results of an evaluation and a cross-ministerial coordinating meeting on law, human rights, immigration and corrections, the Minister has added to the list of countries, special administrative regions, and certain entities granted visa-free visits,” the Minister stated in the regulation. The newly added list includes the Republic of Türkiye, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Peru, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and the Republic of Belarus. Through this regulation, citizens of these six countries, special administrative regions, or certain entities are officially added to the list of subjects receiving the visa-free visit facility. The evaluation underlying the determination of visa-free countries considered aspects such as the principle of reciprocity and benefit, national security, tourism, economy and investment, and other aspects determined by the President. The regulation was officially enacted on 9 July 2026 by the Director General of Legislation at the Ministry of Law, Dhahana Putra, and entered into the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia of 2026 Number 463. With the enactment of this regulation, the previous policy, Ministerial Regulation Number 10 of 2025, is officially revoked and declared invalid. The 2025 regulation had included Peru, Brazil, and Türkiye in the visa-free visit list. According to data from the Directorate General of Immigration, in 2016 there were 156 countries receiving the visa-free visit facility. This number was reduced by 16 countries in 2025, and now six countries have been added this year.
