JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government is continuing to refine plans to provide incentives for two-wheeled electric vehicles in order to accelerate the transition from petroleum fuels (BBM) to cleaner energy. This step is expected to stimulate public interest in switching to electric motorcycles in the near future. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the policy is currently in the finalisation stage and will soon be announced by the relevant ministries. Purbaya revealed that the government is preparing an initial quota with a competitive subsidy amount to make electric motorcycle prices in the market more affordable. In response to the plan, PT Indomobil E-Motor Internasional, the holder of the electric motorcycle brand under the Indomobil Group, expressed its support. This government initiative is seen as a major boost for the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia. Pius Wirawan, CEO of PT Indomobil E-Motor Internasional, said that the presence of this subsidy will be welcomed with readiness of high-quality products. According to him, more affordable prices will not reduce the standards provided to consumers. Indomobil’s readiness to embrace this policy is also supported by strong after-sales infrastructure. This is crucial to ensure that the energy transition is not just at the point of purchase, but also for long-term usage comfort. It can be said that Indomobil Emotor is a new local electric motorcycle brand. Since its debut launch in February 2025, Indomobil Emotor has released four models: Adora, Tyrano, Sprinto, and the newest, QT.
