Indomobil Emotor Sprinto Review: The Most Natural Riding Experience
JAKARTA – On first glance, the Indomobil Emotor Sprinto closely resembles a conventional petrol scooter commonly seen on Indonesian roads, from its body proportions, wheel design to its silhouette.
But how does it feel to ride daily? Is the riding experience as natural as its appearance, or does it feel unfamiliar like most electric scooters in its class? After testing it for daily commuting, here’s my full review.
The most appreciated aspect when first sitting on the Sprinto is its ergonomics. In my view, it’s one of the electric scooters with a seating position most similar to a conventional scooter.
The main advantage is evident when placing feet on the footrest. Fortunately, the Sprinto’s footrest isn’t too high, resulting in an ergonomic and comfortable riding position that doesn’t force a “crouched” stance.
This is noteworthy, as many current electric scooters position the battery under the footrest, making it too high and uncomfortable for taller riders on long journeys.
As a result, it remains pleasant for daily commutes and safe for longer trips without causing fatigue.
To start the Sprinto, there are two practical options: using a conventional key or pressing the lightning button twice on the remote. Once the instrument cluster lights up, folding the side stand and pulling the brake lever ready the scooter for riding.
Switching to performance, the Sprinto offers three riding modes: Comfort, Sport, and Boost. All three share similarities, particularly in the smooth throttle response with no jerking from a standstill.
The significant difference lies in the maximum speed limit. In Comfort mode, the speed is capped at around 40 km/h, ideal for navigating dense neighbourhoods or alleys. Sport mode increases the limit to around 60 km/h, while Boost mode allows up to 90 km/h.
However, despite the varying speed limits, the throttle response in Sport and Boost modes remains equally smooth. To be honest, I expected the Boost mode to offer a more instant and “snappy” riding experience, typical of high-torque electric scooters.
The Sprinto’s standout feature for daily use is its suspension. With 14-inch wheels, the shock absorbers feel very similar to a conventional scooter—solid and sturdy, not flimsy or hollow when crossing road joints.
On uneven or bumpy roads, the ride feels “mature”. The damping is well-balanced—not too harsh, nor overly bouncy due to excessive softness. This suspension character instils confidence and comfort when weaving through traffic.
The comfort is further enhanced by a robust braking system. Both front and rear disc brakes work precisely to halt the scooter effectively.
