JAKARTA – Indomobil Group’s aggressive steps in tapping into the electric vehicle market are becoming increasingly evident. Not only is the company introducing a new brand, but it is also preparing local production of the Leapmotor electric car.

The Leapmotor B10 is reportedly set to debut at the GIIAS 2026 event, and it will not merely be on display but directly available for sale to consumers.

Indomobil even targets that units can be produced and delivered to customers almost simultaneously with the launch.

“We are currently in the testing phase. So, by the time of GIIAS (July 2026), we can already produce and supply to consumers. Directly CKD in Purwakarta,” said Tan.

This means the model will be assembled locally using the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) scheme at Indomobil’s production facility in Purwakarta, West Java.

“We have confirmed that we will bring models like the B10, which is an SUV. We are also planning to bring other models,” Tan added.

For context, the Leapmotor B10 falls into the compact SUV category, with dimensions of approximately 4,515 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. Its size places it in the same class as the BYD Atto 3.

For the Indonesian market, the car is reportedly equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 600 km based on CLTC standards.
