Indomaret Workers Meet Ministry of Manpower Over Overtime Complaints
Representatives of Indomaret workers met with the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) regarding employment issues at PT Indomarco Prismatama, the operator of Indomaret stores. According to documents obtained by the ministry’s public relations office, Indomarco was represented by operational director Andreas Djajaputra, while workers were represented by union leaders from Lebak Banten, Tangerang, Bogor, Jakarta, and Purwakarta.
The parties agreed to peacefully resolve the industrial dispute with several terms: management will revalidate staff availability for 31 May and 1 June 2026, with data collection on 28-30 May involving union representatives at each branch’s HR department; strict action will be taken against confirmed instances of intimidation; negotiations for a collective labour agreement (PKB) will proceed with union membership verification; employees who staged protests on 26 May will face no disciplinary action and receive full pay; and overtime pay will be provided for work on 27 May.
Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor facilitated the meeting to ensure a peaceful resolution. He stated, ‘Today we facilitated a dialogue between both parties. As Deputy Minister, I received them.’ He added that around 176 Indomaret outlets were temporarily closed due to operational challenges from global volatility in 2026, but no staff reductions occurred as employees were reassigned to open branches.
Regarding holiday entitlements, Afriansyah explained that while companies must pay overtime on national holidays, a mutual agreement allows flexibility: those not working on holidays can take time off, while those who do work receive compensatory days off. He also stressed that any staff involved in intimidation must face strict disciplinary action, including dismissal if necessary.
