Indomaret workers have continued their demonstration outside the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) in South Jakarta, awaiting the outcome of mediation regarding their demand for overtime pay on public holidays to be paid directly rather than replaced with alternative days off.

On Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at 3:50 PM, the crowd was seen sitting in front of a command vehicle parked at Kemnaker’s compound, awaiting mediation between Indomaret management and the workers’ union. They wore Indomaret uniforms and union attire, carrying union flags.

One of the workers’ representatives, Ahmad Saifuddin, confirmed that Indomaret management representatives were present at Kemnaker, with mediation ongoing.

Indomaret’s Customer Relationship Management Executive Director, Gondo Sudjoni, also confirmed the mediation, stating that the workers’ union is involved in discussions. “Mediation is currently taking place at the Ministry of Manpower, facilitated there,” he said.

The following six demands were listed on banners carried by members of the PUK SPAI PT Indomarco Prismatama Tangerang union:

  1. Reject all forms of coercion, pressure, and manipulation of statements against workers

  2. Uphold workers’ right to overtime pay

  3. Reject substituting overtime pay with additional days off

  4. Demand company compliance with internal regulations and the Labour Law

  5. Demand strict action against individuals responsible for intimidation

  6. Preserve industrial relations
