Indomaret Denies Allegations of Intimidation Against Employees Rejecting Overtime Scheme Changes
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Indomarco Prismatama has denied allegations of intimidating employees regarding changes to the holiday overtime pay structure. Gondo Sudjoni, Executive Director of Customer Relationship Management at PT Indomarco Prismatama, stated the company has no interest in intimidating workers. ‘No, there is none. If employees are being intimidated, what would be the company’s interest in doing so?’ he told reporters at Indomaret Tower in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (26 May 2026). ‘There should be a win-win situation for both workers and the company,’ he added. He explained that employment relations are based on work agreements, adding, ‘If we disagree with company policies, for example, I personally would resign. Isn’t that right?’ Winda Ayu, an Indomaret worker from Tangerang 1 branch, said managers had pressured staff who rejected the policy. ‘Intimidation here means supervisors, like store assistant managers, telling us we won’t be promoted to store head or assistant store manager,’ she told Kompas.com at the protest site on Tuesday. ‘You won’t get promoted, you’ll be transferred to another store,’ she said. Ahmad Saifudin, another Indomaret worker, claimed intimidation occurred across multiple branches since early May 2026. ‘For the entire month of May, all national branches have been pressured by area supervisors, area managers, and even higher-ups like DBM and BM,’ he said during the Tuesday protest. ‘Store staff are being pressured to sign documents confirming their agreement or disagreement,’ he added. Christopher from Indomaret’s Bogor 2 branch alleged contract workers faced pressure over rejecting the policy. ‘If contract workers don’t sign, their contracts won’t be renewed,’ he told Kompas.com on Tuesday. It is known that Indomaret workers organised under PUK SPAI FSPMI PT Indomarco Prismatama plan to hold a protest rally at Indomaret Tower, Jalan Pantai Indah Kapuk No. 1, Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (26 May 2026).
