JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A protest by PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) workers outside the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May 2026) has yielded results. Mediation between worker union representatives and management, witnessed by Kemnaker officials, concluded in an agreement. The mediation outcome was read out to the protesters by Teti, Chair of the Bogor Branch of SPAI FSPMI, following lengthy discussions until 5:30 PM WIB. A key point addressed the workers’ primary demand to retain overtime pay rather than replace it with additional leave days. PT Indomarco Prismatama has decided to continue paying overtime to workers who work on the Idul Adha 1447 H holiday tomorrow. ‘Management of PT Indomarco Prismatama will pay overtime to workers on 27 May 2026,’ Teti said, met with cheers from the protesters. Additionally, a new data collection process will be conducted regarding employee willingness to work on public holidays on 31 May and 1 June 2026. ‘The data collection will take place on 28, 29, and 30 May 2026, involving worker unions at each branch’s HR department,’ he added. Management also pledged to investigate and impose strict sanctions on individuals proven to have intimidated workers who staged the protests. Regarding the workers who demonstrated today, management assured there would be no action or sanctions against them. ‘For workers who participated in protests on 20 May 2026, management of PT Indomarco Prismatama will take no action, withhold wages, or impose sanctions,’ he said. Closing his address, Teti confirmed all agreement documents had been signed by all parties and are legally binding. From management, the documents were signed by Andreas Djajaputra, Operational Director of PT Indomarco Prismatama, as the first party.
