Indofarma Continues Coordination on Capital Injection with Danantara
State-owned pharmaceutical company PT Indofarma Tbk (INAF) has stated it is continuing to coordinate with Danantara Indonesia regarding a request for a capital injection to support the company’s recovery process.
“Regarding the Danantara capital injection, we are still coordinating. We are also still in meetings with Danantara,” said Indofarma President Director Sahat Sihombing during a Public Expose at the Indonesia Health Learning Institute (IHLI) Bio Farma Group in Jakarta on Thursday.
The company hopes Danantara Indonesia will continue to provide support to state-owned enterprises in the pharmaceutical sector, including Indofarma.
“We hope Danantara continues to support Indofarma, that is the progress. Hopefully there will be better support with Danantara,” Sahat said.
The company has been seeking approval from Danantara Indonesia for a capital injection since the fourth quarter of 2025. Through Bio Farma Group, the holding company for state-owned pharmaceutical firms, the company has submitted all documents and work plans required by Danantara Indonesia.
“Regarding the Danantara injection, we have indeed proposed this through Biofarma Group as the holding and it has been submitted to Danantara, and we are still awaiting certainty on the Danantara injection,” Sahat stated.
Previously, the company confirmed it will continue its performance restructuring efforts in 2026, as mandated in the Homologation Agreement. The restructuring efforts are being carried out with the support of the State-Owned Enterprise Supervisory Board (BP BUMN), the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia), and PT Bio Farma (Persero) as the Pharmaceutical SOE Holding.
On this occasion, the company expressed its optimism about recording a net profit in 2026, despite pressure from the strengthening of the United States dollar against the rupiah.
“We remain optimistic about this year’s profit target, even though there is a weakening of the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, which we know will certainly increase the cost of goods,” Sahat said.
The company held its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM), which approved the 2025 Financial Statements. Throughout the 2025 financial year, the company posted net sales of Rp151.5 billion. The company still recorded a loss in 2025, but managed to significantly reduce its current period loss by 76.7 percent year-on-year to Rp77.9 billion, compared to Rp334.5 billion in 2024.
