The crypto trading platform Indodax recorded that the transaction value of crypto assets during August 2026 increased by approximately 16 per cent to Rp 8.7 trillion, compared to Rp 7.5 trillion in the previous month.

Indodax Chief Marketing Officer, Aloysia Dian, explained that this transaction value is equivalent to 36.5 per cent of the national crypto transaction value for the period, which reached Rp 20.52 trillion, amidst a total of 22.93 million digital financial asset consumers across Indonesia.

“The increase in transaction volume in August shows that market activity is beginning to strengthen again. Bitcoin’s momentum has helped drive investor attention, while the growing number of investors indicates that interest in crypto assets remains sustained,” she stated in a press release in Jakarta on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

According to her, the increase in volume in August indicates that investor activity is rising again after the market remained flat in the previous month. However, she added that transaction decisions remain heavily influenced by market conditions, volatility, and individual investor strategies.

Based on data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin strengthened by approximately 24.36 per cent within one month, followed by Ethereum at 32.01 per cent, XRP at 28.22 per cent, Solana at 41.33 per cent, and Hyperliquid (HYPE) at 61.53 per cent.

She noted that this cross-asset strengthening shows that the improvement in market sentiment is not only concentrated on Bitcoin but is also beginning to spread to other crypto assets.

“Bitcoin still plays a major role in shaping market sentiment and activity. When Bitcoin activity increases, attention towards other crypto assets can also strengthen. However, each asset has different characteristics and risk levels,” said Aloysia.

She further stated that the increase in transactions in August is part of a returning market dynamic that aligns with improving global market sentiment. Nevertheless, crypto movements remain influenced by global conditions, liquidity, and the direction of monetary policy.

“The improvement in global sentiment is helping to drive market activity, but these conditions can still change alongside developments in global macroeconomic policy and liquidity,” she said.

Therefore, she added, the increase in transactions should be approached in a measured manner, by continuing to conduct research and avoiding decisions driven solely by short-term price movements.
