JAKARTA (JP): PT Indocement, a private-owned cement company, has opened a 24-hour health center in its factory in Cibinong, West Java, for its workers as well as residents around the factory.
Director of the company, Soepardjo, said that the health center provides emergency room facilities and routinely holds public presentations on health care for the workers and local residents.
Antara reported that Soepardjo officially opened the health center over the weekend.
Head of the company's health department, Meily Widjaja, said the clinic will also provide a mobile community health center, in cooperation with the Cibinong office of the Health Ministry.
The Rp 1.3 billion (US$590,909) health center, which is built on a 4,526 square-meter plot, employs 72 workers, including seven general practitioners and three dentists. The clinic can accommodate about 250 patients per day. (yns)
