IndoCat 2026 in Solo Unites Experts from 10 Countries

The first Indonesian Catalysis Conference (IndoCat) 2026 was held in Solo, uniting participants from 10 countries. The annual meeting of the Indonesian Catalysis Society (MKICS) brought together researchers, academics, scientists, students, and industry practitioners to discuss the latest innovations in the field of catalysis. Committee Chairman Dr Wirawan Ciptonugroho stated that the forum facilitated a significant exchange of ideas regarding the strategic role of catalysts in supporting green chemistry, energy transition, sustainable industry, and environmental protection. Participating countries included Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, Germany, Finland, Zimbabwe, and Vietnam. The conference featured 76 oral presenters, 18 poster presentations, and 26 general participants and guests. Indonesian institutions involved included the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), PT Pertamina, and the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA), alongside universities from the Solo Raya area. The event was sponsored by PT Anton Parr/Equiva Ligand Indonesia and PT Teknolabindo Penta Perkasa. Organisers noted that the presence of international experts provided insight into the latest scientific and technological developments, serving as inspiration for research advancement in Indonesia. The conference is expected to strengthen collaboration between universities, research institutions, and industry, ensuring that catalysis research contributes to a greener, more efficient, and sustainable industrial development. The success of IndoCat 2026 lays a strong foundation for future annual MKICS conferences, with the next edition planned to be hosted by Universitas Padjadjaran in West Java.
