The livestock and animal health industry in Indonesia has entered a new chapter with the opening of the international Indo Livestock 2026 Expo & Forum today, Tuesday (16/6), at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang. In its 19th edition, this prestigious event serves as a strategic meeting point for global technological innovation and the preservation of local genetic wealth.

Organised by PT Napindo Media Ashatama with full support from the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, the exhibition synergises with related sectors such as Indo Feed, Indo Dairy, Indo Agrotech, Indo Vet, and Indo Fisheries. A total of 600 participants from 30 countries are taking part, bringing solutions to strengthen national food security.

One of the main highlights this year is the Indo Livestock Grand Championship (ILGC) 2026. For the first time in history, the Garut Sheep Agility Art is being held indoors within an international exhibition hall. This move is seen as an effort to modernise community livestock culture, making it more professional and globally recognised.

Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. drh. Agung Suganda, M.Si., emphasised during the opening that the Garut Sheep is a source of national pride with high economic and historical value. ‘This is not merely a change of location, but a major step to bring community livestock farming to a more modern and professional stage,’ he stated.

Echoing this sentiment, Managing Director of PT Napindo Media Ashatama, Arya Seta Wiriadipoera, said that the presence of the ILGC within the international exhibition provides a platform for local breeders to showcase the potential of national superior livestock to investors and global industry players.

Beyond business and livestock competition, the first day also featured a social mission through a Socialisation Talkshow on SDTI (Milk, Meat, Eggs, and Fish) with the theme ‘Balanced Nutrition for a Brilliant Generation’. This programme aims to educate the public on the importance of animal protein in preparation for Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045.

Visitors were also offered various other educational agendas. The series of events will continue until 18 June 2026, with other interesting programmes such as Youth Farmer’s Day themed ‘From Farm to Fame’ and the continuation of the Garut Sheep Agility Art. The exhibition is open to both professionals and the general public through on-site registration.
