Syafrida Rasahan, a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman, has revealed that an individual allegedly fled during an inspection of luxury cells at the Cibinong Prison. Syafrida suspects the individual is the corruption convict Jimmy Masrin.

“Regarding Jimmy, we can confirm that is the current suspicion, based on the information provided,” Syafrida stated at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 29 September 2026.

The Ombudsman also discovered a photograph of Jimmy within one of the rooms. One of the Ombudsman’s officers also reportedly encountered the individual.

“The photograph is present, and our assistant did encounter the person,” she added. However, for definitive confirmation, Syahenda advised referring to the Directorate General of Corrections (Imipas), as the Ombudsman cannot provide absolute certainty at this stage.

In response, the Director General of Corrections at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Inspector General Mashudi, disclosed the preliminary findings of a joint team inspection regarding several objects of concern raised by the Ombudsman at the Class IIA Cibinong Prison in West Java.

Mashudi explained that the inspection is ongoing and covers official residences, the Assimilation and Education Facilities (SAE) area, and asset administration. Regarding the staff quarters, Mashudi noted there are 16 units; three are recorded in the State Property Management and Accounting Information System (SIMAK BMN), while 13 others are located along the banks of the Ciliwung River.

“Based on the preliminary inspection, the television, household furniture, sofa, spring bed, and a refrigerator containing three bottles of whisky and one bottle of beer are the personal property of the Head of Security,” Mashudi stated during a meeting with Commission XIII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Monday, 28 September 2026.

Addressing the framed photograph of inmate Jimmy Masrin, Mashudi explained that the item had been previously secured during a security raid.

He also provided details regarding the inspection of facilities within the SAE area. He clarified that the structure resembling container-style lodging is actually an operational office for cattle fattening activities, funded by the 2026 State Budget (APBN). Meanwhile, the staff quarters or rest houses were constructed using the 2017 State Budget.
