Indisi Partners with Telkom and JCI Batavia to Distribute 250 Food Baskets to SLBN 8 Jakarta
The Indonesian Disability Institution (Indisi) partnered with PT Telkom Indonesia and Junior Chamber International Batavia to channel social assistance to the community. The assistance consisted of 250 food packages distributed to students, teachers, and staff at SLBN 8 Jakarta special education school in North Jakarta.
The food packages contained 250 portions of bread and milk. Indisi Daily Chair Citragama Prameswari stated that the assistance was intended to help recipients meet their basic needs in advance of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
“We hope this food assistance can help the students, teachers, and staff in meeting their basic needs as Eid approaches,” said Citragama in a statement on Sunday, 15 March.
In addition to providing relief supplies, the programme included talent performances by students, including singing performances by blind student representatives and Quranic recitation by intellectually disabled student representatives alongside the food distribution.
SLBN 8 Jakarta Principal Sihman expressed appreciation for the support provided by various parties to the school. He hoped the social assistance programme would continue in future years. “This food assistance programme is extremely helpful for our students, teachers, and staff. We hope this partnership can continue in 2027,” said Sihman.
The social assistance programme represents a collaboration that has run for two consecutive years between Indisi and PT Telkom Indonesia. The activity concluded with a food package handover ceremony and distribution of bread and milk to all school students, teachers, and staff.
