Indikator Presidential Candidate Survey in West Sumatra: Prabowo 60.2%, Anies Baswedan 29.3%

Indikator Politik Indonesia has also recorded the latest portrait of the electability of presidential candidates (capres) in West Sumatra. The results show President Prabowo Subianto leading over other figures predicted to run as capres.

In the document accessed on Tuesday (7/4/2026), the Indikator Politik Indonesia survey was conducted over the period from 19-29 November 2025. A total of 1,200 respondents, who are Indonesian citizens in West Sumatra with voting rights in general elections—namely aged 17 years or older or already married at the time of the survey—were interviewed directly or face-to-face by surveyors.

The tolerance for error or margin of error of the survey is ±2.9% at a 95% confidence level. This presidential candidate survey includes several simulations starting from top of mind, semi-open involving 25 names, simulation of 10 names, 5 names, up to 3 names.

In all simulations, Prabowo leads over other figures in the survey, such as former capres Anies Baswedan, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. Here are the survey results:
