Indian scholarships for Indonesians

JAKARTA: Under the yearly scholarship program called the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), 41 Indonesian engineers will depart on Sunday for a six-week stint studying computer software in India.

The training, which is a full scholarship program, will be conducted by Tata Infotech Limited in New Delhi. The scholarship winners were selected by the Office of the State Minister of Research and Technology.

President Megawati Soekarnoputri is expected to observe the training during her visit to India in early April.

Every year India offers 85 full scholarships to Indonesia under ITEC and the Colombo Plan, as part of India's commitment to the South-South Cooperation with Indonesia. --JP
