Indian PM Modi Praises Prabowo: 'He Is Extremely Generous'
Yogyakarta – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered high praise to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the hospitality and organisation of his state visit to Indonesia.
Speaking before guests at the Prambanan Temple complex in DI Yogyakarta on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, PM Modi stated that President Prabowo’s attention to every detail of the visit’s agenda left him “speechless.”
The statement was made towards the conclusion of Modi’s three-day visit to Indonesia. He noted that from his arrival until his imminent departure for India, the entire series of activities had been thoroughly prepared by President Prabowo.
“I have just landed, and I will be departing shortly. President Prabowo has been very generous with his time. He has spent so much time with me. And every aspect of my visit, every aspect of my programme, has been very well planned,” said PM Modi.
He added that it was not merely the arrangement of the agenda that left a deep impression, but also President Prabress’s attention to every detail of its execution.
“The attention to detail provided by President Prabowo on every element of my programme, as well as its extraordinary execution, has left me speechless,” he remarked.
In response to the reception, Modi expressed his gratitude not only personally but also on behalf of the entire Indian population.
“As a close friend, I wish to convey my sincere thanks, not only on my own behalf but also on behalf of 1.4 billion people of India, for the grand welcome given to me and my delegation, and for the warmth, friendship, and love shown to us,” Modi stated.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo emphasised that Modi’s visit is expected to serve as a momentum to further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations through cultural channels.
“I hope this visit will further strengthen the friendship between the people of Indonesia and the people of India. Culture is a bridge capable of uniting nations, strengthening mutual understanding, and building trust to face the future together,” said Prabowo.
The President also expressed his appreciation for Modi’s three-day state visit to Indonesia.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Indonesia, I express my highest gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his state visit to Indonesia this time over the course of three days,” he concluded.
