Indian navy chief visits Myanmar

YANGON (DPA): In another sign of warming New Delhi-Yangon
ties, Indian Navy Chief of Staff Adm. Sushil Kumar has paid an
official visit to Myanmar, local news reports said on Thursday.

Kumar, India's first senior naval officer to visit the country
in 20 years, held meetings with Myanmar Army Commander-in-Chief
Maung Aye and other senior junta leaders such a First Secretary
Lt. Gen. Khin Nyunt on Wednesday, said the New Light of Myanmar
newspaper.

India has frequently expressed its concern about reports that
China is operating naval and radar facilities in the Coco islands
of Myanmar, near India's Andaman and Nicobar islands.
