Indian Investor Eyes Central Java, Ready to Develop Agricultural Products and Solar Energy
Indian investor JK Enterprises is exploring an expansion of its investment in Central Java, targeting the agricultural products and solar energy sectors. The plan was conveyed during a meeting between Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi and JK Enterprises Chairman Anant Singhania in Semarang on Thursday (25/6/2026). Anant stated that JK Enterprises has been operating in Indonesia for more than 50 years. The company, which operates in the cutting tools, hand tools, files, and drills sector, now sees an opportunity to expand its production lines in Central Java. “We are looking at opportunities in agricultural products because demand is high, both in the domestic and export markets. We are also studying other products, such as solar pumps and solar products,” said Anant. When asked about the investment value to be disbursed, Anant did not mention a specific figure. He said the investment amount would depend on market response and future business developments. Anant expressed optimism that the investment development plan could proceed. He assessed that the Central Java Provincial Government provides a rapid response to every issue faced by investors. “They are very proactive in providing direction and assistance. We truly feel the support from the Governor,” he said. On the occasion, Governor Ahmad Luthfi confirmed his readiness to facilitate the resolution of various investment issues, through coordination with relevant ministries and assistance from the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP). Head of Central Java DPMPTSP, Sakina Rosellasari, explained that her office would assist in resolving technical obstacles faced by the company, including issues with the OSS system and adjustments to the 2025 Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI). “When a 2025 KBLI code disappears during a ministry system rollback, business actors can come to us for assistance. We will also contact the ministry,” Sakina explained.
