Indian Investor Eyes Central Java, Ready to Develop Agricultural Products and Solar Energy
SEMARANG — Indian investor JK Enterprises is exploring the expansion of its investments in Central Java, targeting the agricultural products and solar energy sectors.
This plan was disclosed during a meeting between the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, and the Chairman of JK Enterprises, Anant Singhania, in Semarang on Thursday (25/06/2026).
Anant stated that JK Enterprises has been operating in Indonesia for over 50 years. The company, which specialises in cutting tools, hand tools, files, and drills, is now identifying opportunities to expand its production lines in Central Java.
“We are looking at opportunities in agricultural products because there is high demand, both in the domestic and export markets. We are also studying other products, such as solar pumps and solar energy products,” said Anting.
When asked about the specific value of the investment to be deployed, Anant did not provide a precise figure. He noted that the scale of the investment will depend on market response and future business developments.
Anant expressed optimism that the investment expansion plan can proceed, noting that the Central Java Provincial Government provides a rapid response to any issues faced by investors.
“They are very proactive in providing guidance and assistance. We truly feel the support from the Governor,” he said.
During the meeting, Governor Ahmad Luthfi ensured that the province is ready to facilitate the resolution of various investment issues through coordination with relevant ministries and assistance from the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP).
The Head of DPMPTSP Central Java, Sakina Rosellasari, explained that her department will assist in resolving technical obstacles faced by companies, including issues with the OSS system and adjustments to the 2025 Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI).
“When there are KBLI 2025 codes missing due to a rollback in the ministry’s system, business actors can come to us for assistance. We will also contact the relevant ministries,” Sakina explained.
