Indian aircraft carrier leave RI
JAKARTA: The Indian aircraft carrier, the INS Viraat, along with the INS Rajput, the Ranjit, INS Shakti and INS Khukri left Tanjung Priok harbor on Monday morning.
The fleet came to Indonesia on Thursday for a goodwill visit. On Sunday, the Indian Navy chief of staff Adm. Arun Prakash left the country.
Thousands of people visited the Viraat and the other ships during their visit, while the Indian Naval Symphonic Orchestra mesmerized a Jakarta audience with a gala concert at the Gandhi Memorial International School.
During his visit, Prakash met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono and other high ranking military officers to strengthen defense ties between India and Indonesia. -- JP
