India ships rice to Indonesia

NEW DELHI (Reuters): Indian exporters sold 75,000 tons of long grain non-basmati rice to Indonesia this month, a leading trader said yesterday.

"I have sold 75,000 tons of long grain rice to Indonesia in the past 10 days," Prem Garg, managing director of Shivnathrai Harnarayan, told Reuters.

"This is the first major rice sale to Indonesia by India since 1996," he added.
