JAKARTA (JP): PT Indhasana Intisupra Kaolin plans to mine
kaolin and build a kaolin processing plant in Belitung, South
Sumatra, with an investment of Rp 15 billion (US$6.5 million)

The company's president, Soetadi, said in Palembang, South
Sumatra, that the plant, which will have a production capacity of
900,000 tons of kaolin per annum, will process 250 tons a day.

Soetadi was quoted Tuesday by Antara as saying that his
company has secured the market for its kaolin, including paper
firms in Banyuwangi, East Java, and in Magelang, Central Java.

Currently Belitung has 18 kaolin processing plants with a
total production of some 600,000 tons per annum, of which 70
percent is exported to Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.
