Independence Month, This Start-Up Launches 'Building Indonesia' with Total Prizes of Rp800 Million
JAKARTA — Welcoming Indonesia’s Independence Day, global start-up Emergent has officially launched the ‘Building Indonesia’ campaign. Emergent has prepared total prizes worth Rp800 million for 100 participants with the most innovative works.
The campaign is specifically designed to encourage small business owners, MSMEs, and business founders across the country to transform their daily operational challenges into ready-to-use digital solutions.
Emergent’s Co-Founder said that the momentum of the independence celebration should be used to provide freedom of innovation for entrepreneurs, especially in digitalising their businesses without technical barriers.
“At this Independence moment, we want to make the process of ‘building’ more accessible to entrepreneurs and business owners in Indonesia so that their ideas can be realised, even if they do not have technical expertise,” said Emergent Co-Founder and CEO Mukund Jha in an official statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).
The Emergent CEO explained how their platform works to realise ideas without coding. Users only need to describe a problem using everyday language. The AI will then automatically facilitate the creation of complete software, from User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX), frontend, to backend.
“Every successful business on our platform starts from the same thing: an idea and a real problem described through words, which then turns into a truly functioning product,” explained the Emergent CEO.
The ‘Building Indonesia’ campaign itself was born as a response to changing behaviour among business actors in Indonesia. Currently, more and more entrepreneurs are beginning to abandon manual record-keeping in books or via instant messaging applications, and are switching to building independent operational software for business efficiency.
