The South Tangerang City Government has recorded performance achievements across various sectors throughout 2025 to mid-2026. These achievements cover governance, regional finance, economic growth, poverty reduction, and digital public service transformation.

Representing South Tangerang Mayor Benyamin Davnie, Head of the Communication and Informatics Office, TB Asep Nurdin, presented the achievements during the 81st Independence Day celebrations on Monday (17/8/2026).

In governance, South Tangerang ranked among the top three nationally in the 2025 Regional Government Implementation Evaluation with a score of 3.8023, and first nationally for performance management from the National Civil Service Agency.

“On the financial side, we recorded regional revenue of Rp8.38 trillion in 2025, exceeding the target. With regional expenditure of Rp4.02 trillion, we posted a surplus of Rp4.30 trillion with a remaining budget balance of Rp478.59 billion, and total regional assets reached Rp31.37 trillion as of 31 December 2025,” said Asep.

In the economy and welfare sector, South Tangerang’s economic growth reached 5.24 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025. Investment realisation also exceeded the target, reaching Rp9.07 trillion in 2024, which helped reduce the open unemployment rate to 5.09 percent.

South Tangerang also recorded the lowest poverty rate in Banten Province at 2.36 percent, while earning the title of Third Best in the Java-Bali Region from the Ministry of Home Affairs for poverty reduction and accelerating stunting reduction.

In digital transformation, the city government launched the integrated service platform ‘Tangsel One’ on 30 April 2026, equipped with an artificial intelligence-based virtual assistant named Helita to facilitate public complaints and licensing access via WhatsApp.

“To bring services closer, we officially launched Tangsel One with the virtual assistant Helita. Residents can now access government information, submit complaints, and process permits through WhatsApp without having to visit offices. This innovation has even become a reference or field study locus for other local governments,” he said.

Closing his remarks, Asep invited all South Tangerang residents to celebrate independence with a spirit of mutual cooperation, both through displaying flags and active participation in development.

“True independence means active, critical citizens who participate in overseeing regional development. Let us make this 81st Independence Day a moment of reflection so that future services and development are increasingly targeted for all levels of society,” concluded Asep.
