Indef Projects Qurbani Revenue to Reach Rp26 Trillion During 2026 Eid al-Adha, Driving Economic Growth
Jakarta, VIVA – Indef Executive Director Esther Sri Astuti projects that Qurbani transaction revenue during the 2026 Eid al-Adha could reach Rp26 trillion.
She stated this would significantly impact the livestock industry and economic circulation for small-scale farmers.
“Generally, Eid al-Adha has multidimensional impacts on the livestock sector, acting as an economic driver that provides significant income boosts for small farmers,” Esther said on Friday, 29 May 2026.
She noted that the national Qurbani turnover reflects substantial economic activity from sales across various regions, including cattle and goats.
“The national Qurbani turnover for 2026 is projected to be around Rp26 trillion,” she said.
Meanwhile, total Qurbani transactions or turnover in 2025 are estimated at Rp27.1 trillion, a decline from 2024’s Rp28.3 trillion.
Despite the decrease, Esther is confident that the Eid al-Adha period remains a crucial pillar for the sustainability of smallholder livestock businesses and the national livestock industry ecosystem.
She added that the economic impact of Eid al-Adha extends beyond farmers to other supply chain participants, including feed traders, transport services, and digital platforms for selling Qurbani animals.
“This event triggers a multiplier effect that drives supply chain circulation and accelerates digital adoption in livestock trade,” she said.
