INDEF: First Quarter 2026 Investment Target Remains Quite Optimistic - BCA Sekuritas
Economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF), Eko Listiyanto, stated that the investment target for the first quarter of 2026 remains quite optimistic.
“I also think the first quarter is still quite optimistic. Because most of the first quarter actually begins with our economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 being higher than expected, namely 5.39 percent. This means it can serve as capital to demonstrate the resilience of the Indonesian economy to investors,” said Eko in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Furthermore, he continued, the first quarter coincides with the momentum of fasting and Eid al-Fitr. Thus, from January, there are already signs of increased demand starting from the producer side.
“This is because producers are making more purchases of raw materials in preparation for what will be bought by buyers during Ramadan and Eid, so all indicators on average rise,” he said.
Only around mid-first quarter did the Iran-United States war occur, which increased global economic uncertainty.
“If calculated mathematically, the investment in the first quarter is likely to meet the target, so the direction is like that. But the challenge will be in the second quarter and beyond,” said Eko.
